In the field of biology, offspring are the young, born of living organisms, either produced by a single organism, or, in the case of sexual reproduction, two or more organisms (e.g., immediate descendants of people, animals, or plants).

Colloquial usage

Colloquial usage of the word "offspring" is sometimes used metaphorically, and may include the production of an artist's creative works, or the production of items or structures built by labourers, etc.
